This is my first photo book that documents the places and things that surround me. Images were created with various 35mm point and shoot cameras. These scenes quickly caught my attention and invoked some kind of instant connection. The ability to shoot the photos quickly and not think about the technical aspect is what makes these scenes special. That spit second where I see something that makes the hair on my arms stand up is more important than focusing and making technical adjustments. Others might see nothing but I see something.

Dead Zones is a collections of photos documenting the decaying environments of once bustling retail spaces. To me, these photos convey emotions of despair, loneliness and nostalgia. Shooting with expired film makes me feel a closer connection to these expiring spaces. Most of the locations are no longer in exisitance.
A collection of photos shot near the Troost Corridor of Kansas City, Missouri.
